Leadership in Production Environments
Application focus drives product choice

The latest InfoTrends research report, U.S. Production Copying & Printing Market Placements: 2008, published April 15, 2009, confirms that Océ once again leads in key market segments. According to the InfoTrends report, Océ holds leadership positions in the placement of high-speed monochrome cut-sheet printers and continuous feed equipment segments in the U.S. The report outlines unit placements and market share by vendor and segment for 2007 and 2008, tracking only devices placed into production environments.

“Océ’s application focus from job submission through delivery is at the core of this success,” comments Jim Hamilton, Group Director at InfoTrends. “The placement share demonstrates how Océ’s innovative product solutions are winning over customers in a variety of print-for-pay and in-plant environments,”

Strong presence in four segments
"Even in a challenging economy, we expanded in key market segments and solidified our continuous feed dominance. Our results are equally impressive in the competitive cut-sheet arena, where our Océ VarioPrint 6000 products have established leadership in just a few years,” said Mal Baboyian, President, Production Printing Systems, Océ North America. "Companies continue to choose Océ to support a variety of their digital print requirements as our innovative technology meets the demands of the marketplace. These results validate our efforts to grow our market presence and bring Océ solutions to more customers.

Strong Success with Océ Cut-sheet Printers
Powered by Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology, the Océ VarioPrint 6000 family is the world’s most productive digital duplex cut-sheet printing system. The InfoTrends 2008 market share numbers demonstrate industry acceptance of the innovative approach of this breakthrough product family. Since its launch in 2007, the popular system has received widespread recognition, including: the 2007 PIA/GATF InterTech Technology Award, Graph Expo 2007 MUST SEE ‘EM award, the 2007 ON DEMAND Conference Best of Show, and the Beyond Five Star rating from BERTL in 2008.

Océ Again Dominates Continuous Feed Market
The InfoTrends report on the continuous feed printer segment includes monochrome, spot color, and process color print engines. Océ has held the top spot in the continuous feed segment since 2003, the first year that InfoTrends began tracking market share for this segment. The latest InfoTrends research demonstrates continued strong growth, with Océ market share in the U.S. increasing by eight percent in 2008. Océ dominated this segment with 57.5 percent market share of all continuous feed engines sold, over four times more than its closest competitor, and 72 percent market share of monochrome and spot color engines.
